How can an author use a fictional character to make a statement about culture? 11/11/19 UNIT: 3 EA# 1 THE IGO CULTURE PRESENTATION YOUR PRESENTATION MUST INCLUDE: Examine ONE aspect of tribal culture presented in Things Fall Apart, its significance to the Ibo community, and to compare and contrast how that cultural aspect changed from pre- to post-colonial Nigeria. Create a presentation that reflects your research. Ideas Structure Use of Language ● COMMUNICATES findings and evidence ● USES mostly accurate and relevant facts, details, and examples ● DEMONSTRATES an adequate understanding of the subject ● INTRODUCES the topic, USES transitions, and PROVIDES a conclusion ● ANALYZES the topic through compare and contrast ● MAKES use of digital media to INTEGRATE multiple sources ● DEMONSTRATES adequate oral communication skills (eye contact, pacing, command of formal English, etc.) ● USES some precise language and domain-specific vocabulary to MANAGE the topic ● INCLUDES an annotated bibliography w/ citations, summarizes and source evaluations YOUR PRESENTATION MUST ALSO INCLUDE: ● 5 colorful photos depicting YOUR aspect of Igbo culture ● Caption & citation for each photo ● Visually appealing (and easy to read) graphics and fonts ● Correct grammar and punctuation ● Capitalized proper nouns ● An annotated bibliography with a minimum of 3 sources YOU CAN DECIDE TO: ● Present in front of class or ● Provide audio with your presentation ● Use any medium to present DO NOT: ● DO NOT crowd your slides with paragraphs ● DO NOT read the slides word for word during your presentation November 18 If you have not turned in your presentation and annotated bibliography, you must do so this week.
